DAY 1

Catania & Syracuse

We will begin our Sicilian holiday with a guided tour of Catania, perhaps the most eclectic and lively city in Sicily.

Starting from Piazza Duomo in the historic center, we will admire the particular architecture of the square with its baroque buildings and the famous Elefant Fountain, symbol of the city.

Do not miss a visit to the Pescheria, the central fish market and one of the largest fish markets in Italy, to appreciate the bright colors and unique smells, accompanied by uninterrupted shouts of fishermen who sell fresh products.

We will taste a typical Sicilian Arancino together and then we will head south towards Syracuse, a city with a thousand-year history, with its monuments of the Greek era and Sicilian Baroque.

The particularity of Syracuse is that its historic center is located on an island, Ortigia.

Ortigia is small and easy to explore by crossing its narrow streets lined with charming churches and is full of palaces and squares that offer a relaxing atmosphere of beauty.

DAY 2

Marzamemi & Noto

To discover ancient Syracuse we must absolutely see its archaeological park, known for its spectacular ruins, but above all the Greek theater, which dates back to at least the fifth century BC and the Roman amphitheater, built in the third century AD, which with its 140 meters in length is one of the most impressive that can be found.

A relaxing and rejuvenating moment is undoubtedly the visit of Marzamemi.

A typical fishing village where you can still breathe the air of an ancient and traditional Sicily.

The old town is located on a small cape and organized around the picturesque Piazza Regina Margherita.

On the south side is the small fishing port with the charming old tonnara.

Narrow streets lead out from the main square, offering glimpses of the turquoise sea .

To understand the sense of beauty of Sicilian Baroque, a Unesco World Heritage Site, you must visit Noto, the Baroque capital of Sicily.

A walk is the best way to discover the eighteenth-century beauties, admiring the imposing churches and the wonderful facades and balconies of the noble palaces.

DAY 3

Ragusa & Modica

We continue towards the city of Ragusa, considered one of the most picturesque in Sicily.

Ragusa has become particularly famous in recent years as one of the main filming locations for Inspector Montalbano's detective film.

The city is divided into two parts, but above all the small Ragusa Ibla which really attracts visitors.

The historic center is compact, and this facilitates the visit on foot in a few hours.

Fascinating is the castle of Donnafugata. The castle, with its white facades and the Venetian Gothic loggia, gives people a warm and pleasant atmosphere.

Combining architectural style and landscape style, this is a good example of the eclecticism of that era.

Here tourists can spend a few hours happily: we will be surprised by the spectacular garden with the only stone labyrinth in Europe, which always amazes with its special effects.

An example? If you venture to the entrance of a small church, a statue of a bearded monk will try to hug us!

We will continue to the fascinating city of Modica which boasts the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Modica, like Ragusa and Noto, contains grandiose examples of Sicilian Baroque.

The two cathedrals of the city are examples: the Cathedral of San Giorgio and that of San Pietro.

DAY 4

Etna and Taormina

We will reach Taormina, the pearl of Sicily. Magical place of art, history and breathtaking landscapes.

We will enjoy a tour through the picturesque alleys of the city and visit the Greek Theater, dating back to the 3rd century BC, which offers splendid views of the coast and on Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe.

The first part of the day is dedicated to free time both to discover Taormina individually and to relax in the fantastic bay in front of Isola Bella.

The visit to volcano Etna is something unique and unmissable.

We will arrive by car at 2,000 meters and visit the Silvestri craters and walk through several old lava flows, to be rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the volcanic landscape embellished by a suggestive Sicilian sunset.

Please wear a waterproof/windproof jacket and long trousers.

We will delight the evening with a dinner in one of the most famous winery of Etna, tasting local specialties and excellent wine.
